Lot of 5 Vintage Walt Disney's BABES In TOYLAND HAND PUPPETS1961 World of Gundikins Vinyl / Rubber Puppets MOTHER GOOSE, CADET, TOYLAND CLOWN, MARY CONTRARY, TOM PIPERThese vintage Puppets are all from Walt Disney's BABES in TOYLAND, a movie which came out in 1961, also when the puppets were made by GUND Mfg Co. They were part of Gund's "World of Gundikins" puppets. The puppets are (left to right in the main photo); Tom, Mother Goose, Toyland Clown, Mary and Cadet. These puppets are some of the many puppets that have been used in my mother's puppet shows (see below for details). My mother made Mary a new blue dress outfit with flowers and lace, the Clown has a new flower print outfit over the original, Mother Goose and Cadet look like they are original, and Tom has a very ragged puppet mitt over the partial remains of his original blue and white outfit (and it's head is loose). No tags as these would have been removed for the puppet shows. The heads are made of soft vinyl rubber and are all in good condition with some paint rubbed off in various places as would be normal for these old puppets. The puppets are about 10-11 inches tall. History and Provenance: My mother was a professional clown back in the 1960's, 70's and mid-80's and entertained children at Birthday and Christmas Parties. She would always end her act with a puppet show. She had a variety of different puppet shows scripted out and a large collection of puppets that she would use. Often she would enhance the puppets by adding jewelry or ribbons, bows, etc. She even sometimes replaced the original "body" with custom designed outfits. Most of her puppets date from the 1960's and 70's (some earlier), and in many cases tags were removed in preparing the puppets for the shows. Her puppet collection has been stored away since her clown retirement in the 1980's and ended up at the Folsom House. In going through the dozens of puppets a few had to be discarded (a rubber Whale and Lion had too many cracks), a few of her favorites will be kept for memories, but fortunately, although it may take awhile to list them all, most of the puppets can be passed on for future puppet shows and puppeteers. Check out the Folsom House store for more vintage puppets!Thank you for reviewing this listing from the FOLSOMHOUSE
