2 juvenile Philomycus carolinianus from captive bred adults hatched last season. Expect egg masses of about 20 a few times a year, mature in about 6-12 months and can live for five years or more unlike many species that live a year or less. Any unwanted juveniles or eggs should be frozen for 72 hours and discarded. Temps of 68-80f. A moist terrarium is necessary. I feed high quality dry cat or dog food and raw market mushrooms great success. Algae based fish foods also work well for growth. Access to protein is absolutely neccessary on a daily basis. These slugs seems to sparkle under light as their skin (mantle) is constantly pulsing with rhythmic undulations.
