Pioneer RT-707 Direct Drive Auto Reverse Stereo Reel to Reel Deck for Restore

Pioneer Reel to Reel Direct Drive Auto Reverse Tape Deck acquired from the original owner. I gave this unit a quick test with a recorded reel and it plays. Sound quality is excellent. The counter was a little quirky, at times it worked perfectly, other times it didn't turn. Some of the controls had to be turned a few times back and forth along with switches in and out due to a long period of non-use. Both directions work, FF, Rew, pause, etc. all work as designed. I have no idea how to test record so that function is untested. All lamps, meters, indicators illuminate as they should. Cosmetically some ever so slight pitting on some of the black painted areas of the case. A few small light marks on the face that you would have a hard time finding and seeing. The plastic test tape reel is not included. The original metal pioneer reel is included. That's the story, although I couldn't test record, the other functions seem to work better than expected. Due to age and a long period of non-use this reel-to-reel deck is offered for restoration and sold as is. As with All vintage electronics that are approximately a half century old, regardless of working condition, rubber parts, electrolytic capacitors, etc. should be checked and replaced if needed.
