Things are about to get really weird in Netflix’s upcoming sci-fi comedy “They Cloned Tyrone.” The movie, which Netflix announced on Jan. 18, will be heading to the screener this summer and it stars John Boyega, Teyonah Parris, and Jamie Foxx, who end up finding out way more about the world than they bargained for. The official trailer for the movie dropped on June 13, and lives up to its exhilarating logline, which reads, “A series of eerie events thrusts an unlikely trio onto the trail of a nefarious government experiment in this pulpy mystery caper.”
The full trailer for They Cloned Tyrone was released online on June 13, 2023. The trailer, set to Rockwell’s 1983 funk classic “Somebody’s Watching Me,” follows Fontaine, Yo-Yo, and Slick Charles as they discover a secret laboratory that has been cloning Fontaine. The trio also learns that the scientists have been spiking certain products in their neighborhood, including hair gel, grape drink, and fried chicken, with a mysterious substance.

We had thought that the sci-fi film would arrive by the end of 2022, but that wasn’t the case. We had even hoped it would be given an early 2023 release, but this didn’t happen either. Instead, Netflix decided to give the movie a release date of Friday, July 21, 2023. You can expect it to hit your Netflix account at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET on this date.
