The one-minute twenty-six seconds teaser gives a glimpse of the film’s world and introduces key characters, with Akshay playing Lord Shiva and actor Pankaj Tripathi in the role of a believer. The character of Tripathi, Kanti Sharan Mudgal, is a departure from Rawal’s atheism in OMG, which featured Akshay Kumar as Lord Krishna.
OMG 2 has Pankaj Tripathi, a believer in Lord Shiva named Kanti Sharan Mudgal. The teaser opens with Pankaj Tripathi’s voiceover as he says that a human being can give proof of God’s existence by being either a believer or his absence by being an atheist but, God always comes to the rescue of a person in need.
It begins with a mention of Paresh’s story in the first installment and goes on to show how Pankaj Tripathi’s Kanti Sharan Mudgal worships Lord Shiva with utmost dedication and glimpses of how his family suffers a tragedy. There is also a glimpse of a child dying by suicide under a train.
Written and directed by Amit Rai, OMG 2 will release in theatres on August 11 and have a box office face-off with Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2. Presented by Viacom18 Studio in association with Cape Of Good Films & Wakaoo Films, OMG 2 also has filmmaker Chandraprakash Dwivedi attached as a creative producer. Dwivedi had last year helmed Akshay Kumar starrer Prithviraj.
OMG, 2 marks Yami Gautam’s first movie with Akshay Kumar. The film also stars Pankaj Tripathi in a pivotal role.
