Very simple installation: Remove the argon cartridge holder and screw on the adapter that’s connected to a cylinder of argon. Purchased argon in a quantity that that suits your needs. Argon cylinders may be purchased. Here are the numbers: Lets start with 100 cartridges approx. $1000.00 . 20cf tank with argon is about $100.00 purchased and a 40 cubic foot tank in $150.00. 20 Cf tank has 100 cartridges in it and a 40 cf tank has 200 cartridges. Equivalent of 20cf has $1000.00 in argon and 40cf has $2000.00 in argon. Argon cylinders, are CGA 580. From 10 cubic feet to 60cf and larger. 20cf cylinders may have 100-120 cartridges worth of argon depending on fill pressure. Its about 50 cartridges per 10cf of compressed argon. Check you local argon gas distributors for best pricing. I found Matheson to have the best prices nation wide. Industrial argon is 99.97 percent. Food grade is 99.98 and Ultra High Purity Argon 99.999% or UHP, is preferred. Argon gas Cartridges are 99.9%. Industries experts say that all argon comes in liquid form. It is all 99.999 in that state and is converted to a gas. Its all in how it is handled from liquid to gas that differentiates it from industrial ,food grade and UHP. UHP is “certified”, (comes with paper work). Argon distributors fill all three purity’s from the same tank. The difference is that UHP cylinders are vacuum pumped 3 times to remove impurity’s, food grade is vacuum twice and welding should be vacuumed pump once, but not always is. The chances are very good buying food grade argon and having it 99.98 or better. I priced 2 cylinder sizes from Matheson in northern California on 2-5-18. Photo 4 is a 20cf filled with food grade argon. Both cylinder and argon $100.00. Photo 5 40cf is $150.00. Great prices. This is purchase price cylinder and argon.
