For sale is this folder of newspaper research pertaining to the Garrett Brothers of Cumberland County, Virginia. These guys were the closest thing to the Sopranos that ever existed in Cumberland. They shot a preacher to death (and some might say he deserved it), ended up in prison, where one studies to become an undertaker and the other studies law and eventually becomes the County Judge. Both end up in Court again and again. This is the kind of story you could see making a TV program. Seriously.This is my personal folder of research on the Garrett Brothers. It contains 40+/- pages of copies from newspapers at the time that detail what happens from witnesses, and some were intimidated into not speaking. People were searched before being allowed to enter the Courthouse. Governor Trinkle sent armed guards to protect the Judge in Cumberland.
