Lionel Diesel horn controller. Replaces battery and relay in locomotives.

I can help you decide what is the best way to fix your train.************************************************PLEASE READ******************************************************************This control board replaces the battery and shaded pole relay used in postwar Lionel Diesel locomotives.It can also be used to add a horn to locomotives that did not have one originally.This is a new manufactured item.It operates with transformers with a whistle lever or button and with battery operated whistle buttons.It is polarity sensitive so you may have to reverse track wires for successful operation.Requires a working, properly adjusted horn. This board only switches the horn on and off with horn or whistle button. It does not generate sound.One customer has successfully used a 5 volt DC version of my board to power a PEMENOL voice playback module and speaker to add sound to an American Flyer boxcar. See photos. Instructions included.This particular board is built for D-cell (1.5V) horns. Other voltages can be configured. Contact me before ordering if you need a 6,9 or 12 volt unit.The 12 volt unit does power the aftermarket horns being sold for use with two 9 volt batteries. The 12 volt version works well even at low transformer voltage. It powers the 12 volt horn at good volume down to around the 10 volt AC setting on the transformer.If you are using an MTH controller/transformer setup please contact me before ordering.
