This is a Gillette Old Type open comb safety razor issued to U.S. Army soldiers during World War I. The original case is intact and included.Date: Serial number H101512 dates it firmly to 1918, the peak year of military Gillette production. Specs: The guard plate is stamped PROPERTY U.S. ARMY — confirming this was actual government issue, not a civilian equivalent. Also stamped with the Pat No at the base of the handle, before the ball end.Condition: a bit of patina on the razor head but great condition for its age. A small hairline crack at the handle base, which is common for these bc of the manufacturing processes used 100+ years ago.
