post WWII Patent No. REDFIELD JR-23 Base & 1" Ring set for SAVAGE 23 Bolt Action

A boxed set Patent No. stamped Denver Colorado Redfield JR-23 scope base and 1" rings for "Weaver scope" that fit the 1923-47 bolt action 22LR, 25-20 & 22 Hornet rifle. This base will require gunsmithing of course to mount on one of these little center fire rifles, with the rear mounted on the receiver and the front on the barrel. The rings are the 1" vertical split type intended for the then-new Weaver 1" scopes that could have the eyepiece and turret saddle removed to slide into these. Redfield wasn't even in the scope business back then, and, when they did introduce scopes, theirs were sealed and couldn't be disassembled. This is in old but unmodified condition as shown. Once installed upgrading one of these old relics with a like vintage scope will increase its usability and collector interest.
