This fountain comes with with six new water filters and a custom made floor mat to prevent water from splashing to the floor around the fountain, The custom mat has a non slip bottom.This fountain was purchased by a friend who adopted and older cat but the cat was not interested in using it. The owner of the pet store where this fountain was purchased suggested pushing the fountain up against a wall to stabilize it and making a lift for the front of the fountain of 1/2 - 1 inch high to prevent water from being splashed on to the floor when the auto refill function happens. He said many of these fountains had been returned due to the floor becoming wet around them. Lifting the front of the fountain stops water from splashing to the floor.. You would think that lifting the front would cause water to leak from the back of the fountain but it doesn't.
