This ABS wheel speed sensor is ideal for vehicle safety, especially heavy-duty transport vehicles, for minimizing wheel lock-up, reducing stopping distance, and improving vehicle stability. Find the other essential features of this ABS speed sensor below: Dimension Details: The ABS sensor has a cable length of 40" that allows it to reach from the wheel hub to the truck’s ABS wiring harness without being too tight or loose. It has two connector pins for the connection, and has a 0.625" (5/8") plug diameter to ensure a snug fit of the sensor. It includes the main sensor cable, brown mounting clip or bracket, and grease pack. Design: The ABS sensor’s body is bent at a 90-degree angle so that it can easily fit into each compact and tight space near the wheel hub. It also reduces strain on the cable during installation. The ABS wheel sensor has a lead wire terminal type to ensure a secure and reliable connection. Application: This ABS wheel speed sensor helps in avoiding skidding and improving braking stability of the vehicle, especially under heavy-load or slippery conditions. It monitors the rotational speed of the vehicle’s wheel and sends signals to the ABS control module, which helps to minimize wheel lockup during braking. Park the truck on a flat surface, engage the parking brake, and secure it with wheel chocks. Handle the sensor by the connector, not the cable, to avoid internal wire damage. Clean the mounting hole and use the supplied grease to minimize corrosion and ease installation. Route and secure the cable properly to keep it away from heat, sharp edges, or moving parts. How to Install this ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Park on a flat surface, engage the parking brake, and disconnect the battery. Find the ABS sensor on the wheel hub/brake assembly. Remove the Old Sensor by disconnecting the wiring connector. Gently remove the sensor from the hub mounting hole. Remove any retaining clip or bracket. Clean the mounting hole and tone ring area. Ensure no debris, grease, or rust is present. Use the provided grease on the new sensor body (not the tip) to ease installation and protect against corrosion. Install the new sensor by inserting the sensor tip into the hub hole. Make sure the sensor body aligns properly with the cable routing. Push it until fully seated. Secure it with the retaining clip/bracket. Run the cable along the original harness path. Use the supplied clip to hold it in place, avoiding sharp bends or contact with moving/heat-generating parts. Attach the cannon connector firmly to the harness socket. Reconnect the battery & start the vehicle to check the ABS warning light, and perform a test drive to confirm the ABS works correctly. When to Replace the Old/Worn-out ABS Sensor of your Vehicle ABS warning light stays illuminated on the dashboard. Brakes lock up during hard braking, or the ABS activates unexpectedly at low speeds.
