An attractive handwritten vellum document from the reign of King James 1st. Ornate calligraphy. All contents in Latin. Looks to be an Exemplification of Recovery. Measures 22½ inches by 14 inches. Dated Decimo Octavo in the year of Jacobi and Quinguagesimo Quinto in the year of Jacobi (Hibrno) - dating it to 1621 or 1622. I have tried to read the contents but this has proved impossible. It was acquired with items relating to the County of Northamptonshire. Unfortunately I have no idea whether this one relates to the same area. CONDITION. Contents complete. Small imperfection to lower right margin. Otherwise no holes or tears (the pin holes to the left and right margins are part of the manufacturing process). Old fold lines and some darkening to vellum but ink clear and free of fading. Good condition for a documentary of this age. Retains the original long vellum tab but the wax seal is lacking. Please see my other listings for similar documentsWill be posted by Royal Mail
